Error: OLI_Electrolyte Property Package Initialization Fails
There are several reason that this error message will occur.
OLI License Issue
By default, all copies of Aspen HYSYS come with the OLI_Electrolyte fluid package installed. What is important to remember that this is the Aspen HYSYS side of the interface. The OLI side of the interface is also required. In effect you need to licenses, one from Aspen Technologies and one from OLI Systems. You need to check if you have a license from OLI Systems.
Hardware Security Failure
After the update of the OLI software, Aspen HYSYS will not execute and returns the error message "OLI_Electrolyte Property Package Initialization Fails"
The update of the OLI hardlock drivers apparently failed but did not alert the user that if failed (it is a silent installation.) When starting the Aspen HYSYS software the OLI security failed but the OLI security error message is suppressed by Aspen HYSYS.
A manual reinstall of the hardlock drivers with full Admin rights resolved the issue.
