Resetting of the OLI Security Serial Numbers for the OLI Alliance products (Aspen Hysys, Aspen Plus, Schneider-Electronics ProII, Honeywell Unisim, PSE gProms, etc) are all reset in similar ways. To start you need to use the Programs feature of the Microsoft Windows Start Button. For this example we will be using the OLI Developer Edition:

First locate the OLI Systems folder via the start menu

Expand this and locate the OLI Alliance product you need to update. For our example we are using the OLI Engine Developer Edition.

Select the OLI Security Settings and Test program. This program exists under the Tools folder for all OLI Programs.

This will display the OLI Security Settings and Test program.

This program will display with the name OLIRegClientTest. It is the correct program. Click the Open About Dialog button.

This is the same Help | About dialog found in most of the OLI Software. A great deal can be learned about the installed program by clicking the mini-tabs at the bottom of the dialog. You can also check to see if there is a new version of the software available by clicking the Check for Updates button.

Right now, to update the serial numbers you need to click the Security Options button.

This particular example shows that we are updating the client side of a network installation. For both the stand-alone and network versions we will not change any network settings.

To update the serial number, please enter the updated value you received from OLI Systems (most likely from Sandra Hogan or Denise Llerna) into the New box:

For this example we have edited the actual serial number. Please use the one provided. Click the OK button when completed.

To finish the serial number update you will next receive a warning message:

Click OK to continue.

You will notice that the serial number appears not to have been updated. It has been but will not be displayed until the program is restarted.

Please click the Close button.
