With Windows 7 and new hardware key security drivers, remote access of individual keys is no longer permitted. While this change is coming to us through Microsoft’s tightened security model, we believe it is consistent with the difference between OLI’s individual key and network key. From our point of view, having a remote entry on an individual key does seem like it mimics the function of a network key, so long-term we are OK with this change.

Analysis:

Users will receive this error message when installing the local protection key on a single computer and then use remote access to run the computer. This is, in effect, an attempt to create a network environment. It is OLI Systems, Inc.'s policy not to permit this activity. A true network license would be required.
