Exporting the OLI software.

This section pertains to the actual physical exportation of the OLI Software and not the "exporting of data." Many of OLI's customers have users world-wide and the software media must be shipped outside of the United States of America.

Here are some of the more commonly asked questions about exporting the OLI software:


What is the ECCN (Export Control Classification Number) for the OLI Software?

ECCN – EAR99

Who made the classification (name of the person) – Marshall Rafal

Classification Date – July 26, 2004 (see note)

Note: This is the earliest reference to the ECCN that we can find in our records. It was probably classified earlier. Under the rules for ECCN, export items of EAR99 types do not actually require a license. Here is a link to the US GOV site explaining this: Classification

Is any encryption utilized within the software?

No encryption is used within the software

Is there a log on/authentication process used to access the software?

No, authentication is achieved with a security module which takes several forms:

  1. USB dongle or HASP
  2. software-based key
  3. license manager software

Can the source code be modified by the user?

No, this is not possible. The code is distributed in binary form as executable files and dynamic linked libraries.
