Adding a Database in OLI Studio V10

Too add an old database to the OLI Studio V10 please follow the steps below:

1. Locate the directory where you have saved your database. You should see 39 files in this directory.

3. Open the OLI Database Converter V10.0

4. A new window opens. Click on the … button to add the source database

11. Add a new stream, and then go to Chemistry>Model Options

a. Select the Thermodynamic Framework that was used to create the Database. (In this example the dataset was created using MSE)

b. Select the private database – it should appear under the Available window.

c. Use the blue right arrow to move the database to the Selected window.

d. Click OK to accept the changes.

13. Go to the Definition tab. In the Summary box you will see the name of the database. You have successfully added the database!

Starting with version 10 of the OLI Studio software the format of the databases changed from the old ESP format (the 39 file format) to a single SQL file which either represented as an SQ3 or DDB file. To use a user database in the new version a conversion is required. This is similar to the steps needed in OLI Flowsheet or OLI ESP FS.
